Bath and the bookshop.
Rooke Books is an extremely magical bookshop in Bath. We stumbled upon it on a freezing cold afternoon last week and I am so glad we did. It was spread out over 4 floors, complete with bubble and ball chairs to relax in. I have never seen such an amazing collection of books, so it's a real shame that it appears to be closing down.

I'm dying over those three Agatha Christie books on the last photo! Such beautiful covers!

ReplyDeleteit's so sad when old bookshops close down.. and it seems to be happening everywhere! discovering a shop like this is a real treat, you never want to leave.
ReplyDeleteKate! Kate! Can I repost this and add it to my series??!?!?! (notice the number of exclamation marks) xxx
ReplyDeleteYes yes Andrea :)
ReplyDeleteBookshops like this should NEVER close down. I love the antiquarian editions photos!
ReplyDeleteI have a soft spot for bookshops. My husband and I went for a walk the other week and there was a book sale - clearly i dragged the poor man inside! x
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing
ReplyDeleteI hate it when bookshops close. So depressing. Did you got to Mr. B's in Bath? Another lovely bookshop. x
ReplyDeleteChuck: No, not heard of it but will definitely visit next time I'm in Bath! It looks great from their website!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place, I could spend days in there! Beautifully photographed by you. How heartbreaking to lose a place like that. I know it might sound controversial but if we've got money to save the banks, why not good bookshops too?
