The Emporiums of Bath.
Two of my favourite stops on a recent day trip to Bath with Thomas included Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights and the Tea House Emporium. The bookshop was so amazing and it all just felt so inviting with lots of comfy chairs dotted around! When you buy a book there you can get it packaged in brown paper, string and a red wax B seal - so beautiful. In the tea house they stock hundreds of loose and flowering teas upstairs and in the basement there is a huge menu to choose from and have a sit down. We both ordered a mate tea which you drink through a metal straw. I had never tried it before but I really enjoyed it!

ReplyDeleteAm so envious of these magical places you visit. They look so inviting. x
ReplyDeletethrilled to see mate in your blog! Favourite drink in Argentina :) Have a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI love the Tea House Emporium, although we've been going to Colonna and Smalls lately, which is adorable, but more coffee than tea!
ReplyDeleteI have a post about this bookshop scheduled for next week! weird coincidence, huh?
ReplyDeleteI have to ask a question, when you pop into shops that you simply must photograph, do you generally need to ask the store owner (or person at the counter) first?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as always. Bath seems quite the gem.
Katieleigh: That's a tricky one. I do often ask first as I get nervous someone will shout at me to stop taking photos. For me, it depends on how relaxed it feels in a place. With this bookshop I just snapped away. If I spy the staff looking at my camera disapprovingly then i would definitely ask permission first. Or if it's a really small shop/business then I do usually ask first.
ReplyDeletethis place is beautiful! Loved it! and your photography is so inspiring♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. I adore cozy small bookstores. Here in Brazil it's very common to drink mate (but in Rio de Janeiro we usually drink it cold, at the beach).

Thanks for responding :) I know what you mean, I've recently had a few awkward moments when I was confronted by shop attendants.. I kind of cried a little inside so I I will definitely ask from now on.
ReplyDeletecece: Thank you!
ReplyDeletenaomemandeflores: I like the sound of cold mate at the beach very much!
I love Mr B's! Never had tea there though. Must try it!
