I finally got around to making my Marimekko cushion this morning! I have loved this design for so long and couldn't believe my luck when i saw the fabric (called Pakkanen and designed by Maija Louekar) was half price in an amazing Scandinavian shop in Bath. The shop also stocked the most wonderful selection of Moomin fabrics and merchandise I have seen since visiting Finland. I am now going on a cushion making binge!

That looks great. I am off to bath this weekend and was wondering if you could suggest any good textile/craft/clothes shops worth visiting. I have noted down the shop where you got this fabric but a while ago you posted some photos about another shop that sold lots of notions, etc

Hi Sarah, Well there is a lovely wool shop which is down a road nearish the station on your right, called 'Wool' (Old orchard place) and round the corner from that is a lovely fabric and haberdashery shop which i can't remember the name of, but it's beautiful. There is also a lovely shop called 'The makery emporium' more in the centre of Bath which i defo recommend! It has trimmings, twine, fabric and Japanese masking tape! It's a delight!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for making for the suggestions. I will make sure I find them all.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I love reading your blog, and especially love the photos.
