Monday
The Rose Lounge.
As a joint birthday celebration I went for the most delicious afternoon tea with Kaori. We made our reservation and headed off to the Sofitel in St James in London and we had a lovely afternoon. Rose bud tea, scones with lemon curd, rose jam and clotted cream, finger sandwiches and lastly some Parisienne pastries. It was absolutely delicious and so filling! There was even a lady playing a harp in there so it really was perfect.

Oooh. Their tea things are actually cuter than the ones in more expensive hotels. Bookmarked for October! Also, the Wolseley was quite good when I went, best chocolate mousse cake I ever had.

Mmm, that looks great! I actually had an afternoon tea in their spa as a Groupon deal the other month, but was most envious we didn't get to sit in that lovely floral room.
ReplyDeleteIt has to be said, I've fallen in love with your blog Kate -- spent ages yesterday trawling through the archives looking at your gorgeous photography. I'm so glad I clicked on your name in Seventy Tree's comments the other day! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Kate :) Such a lovely place and you've captured it beautifully. How do you get such sharp pictures indoor!? mine are always blurry :o
ReplyDeleteThanks MK. I just had it on 1.8 aperture, and then my camera chooses the shutter speed and it was a 400 iso film. I was unsure how they would come out as it felt quite dark in there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo's kate! this reminds me of the Anatheum tea room (spelling?) where I had the best afternoon tea in my life. I have now bookmarked this place to add to my list.
ReplyDeleteAlso- I just blogged about visiting teapot Island in kent and thought of you as you collect teapots! There were 3000 of them. Yep. mental.
