We finally made a visit to Lewes last week after it had been on my 'to visit' list for a few years now. It was such a charming town that we only skimmed the surface of with the 2 hours parking we had. The main reason for the trip was for the farmers market (we came away with lots of cheese, a hand made wooden bird feeder, a couple of pots of snowdrops for the garden and an assortment of cakes). Oh Lewes we loved you and can't wait to return to all the antiques shops, to try out every single coffee shop and stock up on cola bottles from Mary's sweets!

  2. i LOVE Lewes. There's a really brilliant pub called the Pelham Arms you should visit, and a great paint your own pottery cafe round the corner as well :)

  3. I love Lewes, I lived there for a year and a half. I used to work in a shop called Wickle on the high street, lovely for shopping and coffee and cakes! Thanks for these photos, they bring some tears to my eye...

  4. We went to Lewes, three years ago as a last minute decision, for a couple hours before taking our plane back to Barcelona and we loved it. We also purchased regional cheeses which were amazingy good! We loved the little stores, food places and the brewery buildings with the river.
