The festival of Britain 2011.
Over the summer I visited Southbank a couple of times and enjoyed a bottle of thumbs up cola with my friend Sarah and then got all excited by the striped beach huts when I went with Thomas. I watched a documentary on BBC about the 1951 festival of Britain yesterday that was extremely interesting. I wish they still had dances outside the Royal festival hall at night.

I also enjoyed the brilliantly sugary Thums Up cola. Great with the spicey Indian food they were serving.

These are gorgeous shots Kate :) I really enjoyed visiting it too. I missed that show the other night, but must watch it on i-player before it disappears. Thumbs up cola looks amazing! x
ReplyDeleteLove these photos. The festival was one of my favourite things of the whole summer. I wanted to keep the analogue sign so badly! x

I love that first shot - cute shoes!!
ReplyDeleteI have a random question for you; living in England, do you own any gumboots/rain boots/wellies? Since moving to Canada and seeing how much rain there is, I'm thinking of buying some rain boots. Wasn't sure if you had any yourself but you have such great taste I thought you might be able to help! :):)
Such beautiful pictures Kate. Love the colours. Such a shame the festival is over! x
ReplyDeleteoh, these colours!
ReplyDeleteThe program was fantastic! Maybe they will do it every 100 years? Roll on 2051 ;)
