Berberian Sound studio started off so well but unfortunately towards the end it made no sense to me, Woody Allen: A documentary was awfully long but I enjoyed the Annie hall related interviews, Oranges and Sunshine was completely shocking but a great watch, About Elly had me wondering about the final outcome the whole time and I thought it was fantastic, Ted was funny yes and Uncle Kent was all about loneliness and chat roulette but quite amusing in parts.

Oh yes I agree. I was quite shocked when I realised it was on 2 dvds - my attention span isn't what it used to be!
DeleteI watched the Woody Allen documentary at the BFI -I'm a HUGE fan. But it was so long I fell asleep about half an hour before the end... oops. Great guy though, and brilliant to see him on his old typewriter.
ReplyDeleteWow - seeing it in the cinema sounds like a real challenge. I thought it was over when I got to the end of the 1st DVD as I got it from lovefilm! Epic! Yes I loved the typewriter bits!
DeleteI had such low expectations for Ted that I was pleasantly surprised at how funny I found it : )
ReplyDeleteYes I know what you mean. The sort of film where you just can't help laughing!
DeleteWoody Allen is wonderful director!! Brilliant guy, but this documentary..well...I'll stay with his own movies =)
